Four Days Aboard Norwegian Luna: Our Honest Take on NCL's Newest Ship

We spent four days aboard Norwegian Luna on one of her very first sailings — here's our full experience. Press play, then read on below for our honest take.

A Brand-New Ship With a Story

Norwegian Luna is NCL's newest ship and the second in their Prima Plus class, and being aboard so early in her sailing life felt like a real treat. Everything gleamed. The design feels open and easy to move through — never that crowded, maze-like feeling you sometimes get on a big ship. And that gorgeous celestial hull artwork? Even more striking in person than in the photos.

She's a "moon"-themed ship through and through, and that sense of something a little magical carries all the way through the experience.

So — What's Onboard?

This was the fun part. We toured Luna from top to bottom so you can see it all before you ever step aboard.

The staterooms are thoughtfully designed and more spacious than you'd expect. The dining had genuine variety — from relaxed, grab-something-casual spots to sit-down meals worth dressing up a little for. The pool decks and open-air spaces are where Luna really shines, and yes, we got a good look at the thrills too, including that headline-grabbing slidecoaster for the adventurous types.

What struck us most wasn't any single venue — it was how the whole ship flows. There's plenty to do if you want a full day of activity, and just as many quiet corners if you'd rather sit with a book and watch the water go by. That balance is hard to get right, and Luna gets it right.

A Beautiful Day at Great Stirrup Cay

One of the highlights of the trip was our day at Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian's private island in the Bahamas. Clear water, soft sand, and that easy, unhurried island pace — it was the perfect break in the middle of the sailing. We spent the day soaking it all in, and it reminded us why a private-island day is such a lovely part of the NCL experience.
